We got about 3" of snow on top of 2" of ice. We are in a fun stage now where it gets up to 40-something in the day and starts the melt, then it dips into the teens at night and the melted shit freezes back over.
Perfectly dry roads suddenly turn into skating rinks where this happens. Fun shit when you're doing 40 mph.
All the semi trucks have ice on their trailers. As it thaws, the wind eventually grabs it and sends huge chunks if ice flying. My buddy had one shatter his windshield on the highway yesterday.
Tip: Stay clear of 18 wheelers with ice on their roof, especially when you are outside of them going around a bend. I saw 2 chunks of ice come off trailers on the way to work this morning. It didn't hit anyone, but I bet they weighed 40 lbs each. Huge chunks. Dangerous shit.
