Hard for me to judge any on the ground soldiers that have to hype themselves up to kill another man lest they be killed.
Externally said call is needlessly cruel. But that's not how things work when you have to kill someone and be prepared for another and not let the gravity of all of that crush you.

We vacillated between dehumanizing language and ritualistic reverence mixed with dark comedy for the poor bastards we were going to send to the ethereal plane. And I'm just some doc hanging out in warzones to support the trigger pullers. It's still hard to get mortar'd and not feel relief/joy that tour side smoked said mortar team of farm boys turned jihadists.

It's not something that I can fully understand and while I think that you should respect the dead I also wouldn't fault a soldier for desecrating the body of someone that was just trying to kill them. Shit in their mouth if you need to do so to keep yourself hyped up to protect yourself and stay engaged. I'm not saying it's right, but I get it.

Calling the family and effectively taunting them is a step too far for me.

100%. this was premeditated. that caller has mental issues (possibly as a result of the war)

It is too far. But it's also not bucha and that's what these guys are now going to use as their line. War crimes without reprisal leads to a spiralling inhumanity.

But also, if I'm in Ukraine being invaded and the Russian populace is both being censored and propagandized to support the war, I'd be looking to make it as unpalatable for said population as possible.
It will of course also have a counter effect of lowering Ukrainian support from western countries that lose their appetite any time a war gets nauseating enough.

no, i get it. my friend took is life for that reason two decembers ago

fuck war
Dude tries to kill you. Dude gets blown up and his phone flies near you. His buddies will be there tomorrow to try to kill you like his others buddies the day before. You see the phone in that context it, you want to tell this guy fuck you, to hurt him more than you can since he's already dead and in pieces, want to externalize the hate and fear you feel since you are in fucking war. Many could make that phone call...and it's not premeditated. It's a continuum of the above. The call is just an extension of literally shooting people to kill them. The family is just him in that moment. It's wrong ethically of course, but hard to maintain without a system of professional soldiering.

Post war the caller will hate himself and might kill himself through gun or drugs as is so common.

The few psychopaths that join the military to legally murder don't tend to go far. They carry enough other anti social behaviors that they only make good frontline fodder.

Sorry dude. I think social media and this war is going to be a lot like Frontline film in Vietnam. It's being the ugly truth to people in incredible real time, personal, and high def. Just having lunch, also watching people kill and die in Ukraine.

no dude, i totally get it. i tend to believe that it would take less than it does for most to break me and turn me into someone who sees life through a lens of red

and i see what you are saying in terms of it being an extension of that fight. but how long does the extension last .. a couple hours? a couple days? years?

it was a shitty thing for him to do. i could see myself doing worse tho

its just sad

Wild @Wild told me the packed train stations and millions of refugees were cabal propaganda. Clearly this is fake, like the war.

You still believing the propaganda Lars? You're smarter than that bro.

How do we know those attacks were by Russia, and not the Azof Battalion? Because the media told us?

Hey retard Wild @Wild, how could Azov have done it when they are a light infantry unit of 900 (at full strength) and they’re trapped in a city hundreds of KM away. You dumb fuck.
