John Lee Pettimore @John Lee Pettimore

now give me a list of countries with strict firearm ownership rules and oppressive regimes ruling without respect to human rights.

I'll wait, it's gonna be a looooooooooooooong fucking list.

if you look at the history of mass shootings, they usually end when the killer runs out of targets and kills himself or when the killer is attacked.

self-preservation is a real instinct, even in 'broken' people.

WTF?!!!

who needs 3 muskets?! you canadians are gun nuts.
Anyone who ever utters the phrase "Why does anyone need more than one gun?" Should be permanently disqualified from all firearm policy discussions.

Neat! Where?

We're armed and the country is full of selfish assholes.

Where is this place of which you speak?

Will I need emerald slippers?
I agree that is an absolutely asinine statement.

'An armed society is a scared society' rings more true.

Its also kinda funny that it's often the same people who cry about fear being used to influence people and at the same time chirp on the positive influence of mutually assured destruction. Hmm.

Closer to the truth:
"An armed society is one where two drunk neighbors scream threats at each other until the race to the house for their gun."

Doesn't roll off the tongue though

I'm not sure it does. In the most disarmed societies the citizens are constantly asking for further protection of things they're afraid of. People will try to dress it up with friendlier language, but that's what it is when you strip it down.

That argument centers around personal responsibility at the individual level.

In the most disarmed societies
Which we aren't talking about.

You mean like the Americans that are asking for their children to be better protected right now?
Duh.

That argument centers around personal responsibility at the individual level.

Dude came in from out of town to commit an armed robbery on a gun store where he killed three people. It's not like some argument on the range escalated into a mass shooting.
It was a joke, see?
He's not in the right neighborhood, you don't belong here, hey? Not a member!

The haircut? That whole thing?
