Are you just playing dense?

Of course they don’t have to be. But the government said they can be, so I’m obligated to do it or I’m the asshole.

And you can stop nitpicking. The details don’t matter. I think most parents would be happy to take on that responsibility.

And this would have nothing to do with you and your guns. So stop fighting it.
Wait - you're an asshole if you don't do everything the gov says you *could do?

I'm such an asshole

So it teachers are armed, would they have to carry all day or would it get secured within the classroom?

What if a teacher didn’t want to be armed? Can they keep their job?

Would they have to complete any training or just go buy a gun and show up at class with it?

Will there be anything implemented for law enforcement to confidently distinguish between teachers and students?
Teachers have to have a shoot off to ensure only the fastest draws are in the classroom. We can have military style funerals for the dead to thank them for their sacrifice. Even give their families medals.

Great idea.

Just throwing this out there. Clearly the police have no interest in protecting the kids so I present to you.

Armed pedophiles protecting each entrance to the building.

An 18 year old wanting to borrow money, even $300, from a bank has to have a parent co-sign.

An 18 year old has to buy a fucking fishing license, ffs.

You have to pass a test to ride a motorcycle, drive a boat, or drive a car. And a special license to drive a bus or semi, both of which include training.

No co-signer and no license for a gun.

Ok John Lee Pettimore @John Lee Pettimore , you are correct. It is bizarre.
Honestly, from the outside it is just surreal.

You have to have training and be registered and signed off as competent to fill out someone's tax return for them. But guns? Nah, what's the worst that could happen?

Here we have a depressed teenage psychopath who wasn't old and legally mature and responsible enough to buy a beer or place a bet in a casino.

But he could walk into a gun store, walk out with two AR-15s and use them to murder 19 random kids a week later.

This kid, he couldn't have come up with a non family member to vouch for him. He was almost completely socially isolated and was known around school for self-harm, killing dogs and cats, making rape and death threats to girls in his classes and threatening to shoot up the school.

Then he buys two AR-15s no problem, murders almost two dozen random 10 year olds, and clowns on here (not you) say the problem here is that elementary school buildings have windows. Unbelievable.

You should be able to have a 9mm handgun in your own home.
You should be permitted with training to stroll around with that gun in public. You should also do it concealed because open carry is for annoying ❄ losers and makes risk identification difficult for the public and law enforcement. Public carry of a firearm should require routine maintenance of certification.

Why would you want to stop 18 year olds from buying the firearm that has the easiest ability to commit mass murder???

Makes total sense that handguns are 21 and assault weapons are 18...

Handguns are actually a much bigger problem crime wise than the semi automatic rifles are, as you of course are well aware. AR-15s get all the headlines because they're the weapon of choice for killing a couple of dozen people, but handguns are much more suited for everyday crime.

Round 36 of "Common Sense Gun Safety Measures" @Splinty

OTTAWA -
A national freeze on importing, buying or selling handguns is a central feature of firearm-control legislation tabled today by the federal Liberals.

So what if none volunteered to?
then there wouldn't be any armed teachers. you should really look up the definition of "voluntary". :)

and to reiterate, kids are twice as likely to be struck by lightning as to be present during a mass school shooting. So arming teachers is like sending kids to school with bulletproof backpacks - Stupid and Expensive.

I'd rather all teachers have to carry the knowledge and empathy to facilitate emotional growth in students.

but if dipshits would rather have them carry guns...
