They're on record as being afraid of getting shot. That could have been a .22 AR for all they knew. The killer could have a higher body count if he'd had a .22 handgun and shot everyone in the room in the head with it. No one even tried to open the door.This sounds silly. I guarantee you the training they received would commonly feature an attacker carrying an AR...because all the cops have ARs and it's the easiest "rifle" for them to use. So you're theory is baseless and unsupported.

And what about the cops who arrived on scene while the man was shooting at the school from outside? They reported they had a clear shot at him but there were kids in the background? Do you think they may have mistaken it for a shotgun or bolt action rifle?

Now I’m reading that it was a coach dressed in all black on lunch break that they were aiming for. The gunman was entering the school in a different area. So that cop at least didn’t see the weapon.
