I think it boils down to his understanding that he's milked this thing dry for notoriety and donations, and he knows McCarthy is the speaker whether he likes it or not. The 3 day process got tons of concessions, and at the end of the day McCarthy is on the hook for the America First agenda.
Side note: Democrats must be so pissed that this is the news on this wonderful January 6th instead of the news they wanted to report throughout the day. Sure they still did it, but it wasn't the news of the day.

The never McCarthy voters received major contributions from donors for their holdout, and the 3 day process actually changed quite a bit of the speaker's power, and promises that he has to live by. It's a pretty major win, even for those in his party who despise McCarthy. Only one house member could trigger the removal process, so in theory Gaetz could do that tomorrow. Obviously that won't happen, but this was nothing more than a 3 day delay on speaker, and it strengthens the rules by which McCarthy needs to live by. Can't do business like a RINO with these new concessions.
