6 of my 7 chickens have "bumble foot", a staph infection in their feet from a scrape/cut and walking around in wet mud(staph is in the soil everywhere in most locations that have abundant vegetation and wildlife)
So now we are cleaning their feet/wounds daily and wrapping them in vet tape, takes two people because one holds the chicken and one does the cleaning/wrapping/cutting out of infected tissue. Real pain in the ass. The feet are improving and healing but it takes about 45 minutes a day that we would prefer to spend doing other things.
Gonna set up a sterile dry area to lock them in on really muddy/rainy days/ times to prevent it from occurring again, had never heard of this shit before and have had chickens off and on for over 15 years.
