NFL Playoffs should only include the top 6 teams from each conference

12 Total for the entire playoffs

Pete Carroll is out of a job:

I know Hauler @Hauler will be devastated by the news that his favourite gum chewer will no longer grace the sidelines during an NFL game.

That makes 7 vacancies in the NFL right now, possibly 8 if the rumours of Belichick leaving New England are true.
It's about time.
Throw him out in the pasture and let him chew grass with the other cows.

Rambo John J @Rambo John J The rumours are that if Belichik does leave New England, then he may well go coach the Chargers.

Given that the Chargets have a talented QB already in place, as well as other top talent on both sides of the ball, that could make things even tougher in the AFC West.

Wild Card Weekend bitches!

Today we have:

4:30 PM Browns @ Texans
NBC

CLE -2
o/u 44.5

This one boils down to CLE's outstanding DEs getting after Stroud. Both these teams have a bit of a "just happy to be here" feel. Most wrote off CLE when they yanked Flacco off his couch to finish the season but he's played very well. Nobody thought Stroud would have one of the best rookie campaigns of all time - especially with the injuries they've had at WR.

They say defense travels - but the Browns are 3-5 on the road. Houston has played well at home where they are 6-3.

I like Houston in a close one. My Bengals/Ohio State fandom likely impacting that feel. I also like the UNDER play here.

HOU 23
CLE 16

I like Houston to beat Cleveland also.

It's supposed to be -14 wind chill in KC. Good luck Miami lol.

MIA @ KC - 8 PM
Peacock Streaming

KC -4.5
o/u 43.5

At first glance, one might look at the over/under and be puzzled as to why it's lower than the CLE/HOU game. Both of these offenses have proven they can light up the scoreboard. The reason: It's going to be colder than a well-digger's ass in Kansas City tonight. Temps are expected to be below zero by kickoff, with 17 mph gusts. That's fucking cold.

Miami has lost its last 10 games when the temp was below 40 degrees at kickoff.
KC is playing their 15th straight home playoff game. Impressive.

Miami hopes to get a lot of their big name players back after losing their last 2 games of the season. Mostert, Waddle, Hill, Ramsey and Achane all hope to play. Xavien Howard - a beast of a DB - is OUT. Conversely, the Chiefs are as healthy as they've been all year.

Given the weather, I like the UNDER in this one even though it's likely 12+ points lower than it would have been in better conditions.
I think both teams will focus on the running attack to move the ball which shortens the game and limits scoring opportunities.

I'll be rooting heavily for Miami in this one because I am so tired of the Chiefs, but I don't see it happening.

KC 20
MIA 12

Miami's defense has been great when both Ramsey and Howard played at DB, which allowed the pass rush to get home. When one or both have been injured, the defense has been porous.

With Howard out, and the best pass rushers at both the DL (Chubb) and LB (Philips) both done for the season, the offense had better be on form.

Both Philips and Chubb were injured without making contact with opposing players, Dolphins edge rushers are cursed this year.

I don't think either offense will be "on form" in this one. This game likely gets decided by who runs the ball the best and can sustain long drives.

Miami probably has the edge when just looking at RB talent. But I can also see both teams calling a few end-arounds. Slot receivers and TEs will also see decent usage in short routes. Each QB will likely have scramble opportunities. Despite both teams being chunk play offenses, I think this one is more of a grind-it-out, methodical affair.

Given the weather and their playoff experience, I see KC making less mistakes. I hope I'm completely wrong and MIA wins 42-0. Fuck KC.
