I got lots of snakes & am thinking I need to keep the population low, my diet protein-rich, & experiment with recipes.
Descaling seems like a bitch, but so does defeathering until a pot of hot water is present.
Probably similar to some fish types.

I've seen an episode of Bear Grylls where he peeled a snake skin off in one go.

I remember because, in true Bear Grylls fashion, he then used the snake skin to store fluid - specifically his own piss.

Which he later drank.

After doing his piece to camera, he noticed that there was a bit of piss still in the snake skin. He could have just emptied it out off camera, but nope he's Bear fucking Grylls, so he made sure to finish every last drop. Weirdo.

Aaaaaaaanyway, yeah you can peel the snake skin off before cooking it.

They don't have scales like fish. More like frog legs if you've ever done that.

Cut the head off, slice them the length of the under-body and pull the skin off. Clean with water. Grill on a stick over an open flame.

Call me a girly man, but I ain't ever eating a snake. That shit looks GROSE. My cousin's husband tried to get me to eat some smoked alligator once, I took one bite and was like "NOPE, NEVER AGAIN". Shit tasted like some nasty leather. Bleh.

That's exactly how Bear Grylls did it.

Just don't piss in the skin afterwards, seems superfluous.
i seen my dad do it a bunch of times and pin them up to a board to dry . youre not really supposed to kill rattlesnakes here but i seen it done a few times . i even had to fight one with a shovel one time.

I give em the 20 gauge to the head on my parents property then I bury the head
thought about eating one but have never done it there

I did eat rattlesnake in eastern Oregon, but I didn't peel the skin off...just ate it...it was decent dipped in BBQ sauce

Cougar is good meat I have heard, has some fat to it. Never ate a porcupine either, heard it can be a bit shady.
Would love to try both.

I've eaten almost everything that crawled or walked at one point.
not really, just felt like a cool Clint Eastwood type quote

You kind of missed the chance to use the line "I've eaten things that would make a billy goat puke"

You have to peel the skin, not scale it. I might be wrong but I think I saw someone nail one to a tree, then he pulled the skin off like a catfish after scoring the belly. Not much meat on those things so you'd have to get a fat one for nit to make any sense.

He probably drank the camera man piss too and used it to shower then he called him daddy for some reason.

One problem with hunting too much meat in the wild is that it attracts bears. Some dude killed a deer on that alone show and had to make a hut for the meat away from his camp site to keep bears away he had lbs of meat in there.
