Anybody else catch the new trailer that debuted during Jimmy Kimmel Live last night? It looks awesome! Especially since it revealed the villain to be Doomsday. At least, that's what everybody is calling the monster in the new clip.
That's typical Hollywood bullshit screwing things up.Has anyone from the movie confirmed that it is actually Doomsday in the movie? Looks like him, but the laser vision and him being created from Zod's body seem strange.
Yea, he's never had it in any of the storylines I've read. And I've read a lot of them. But if they're ditching the Kryptonian science experiment origin and going with a Lex Luthor science experiment origin and he's truly synthesized from Zod's body, I guess that heat vision would be feasible.... I guess....I could be wrong but i don't recall Doomsday having heat vision or whatever that was.
My feelings as well. I guess that's why my mind was in denial about it even being Doomsday. He'd be a credible threat, but him coming from Zod's dead body is just.... meh. I've wanted to see Doomsday in a Superman movie for well over two decades, but I don't think this is what I was wanting. It could turn out to be great when I actually see the whole film, but as of now, I'm very leery of it. Also, thanks for embedding the video.I've given my opinion on the facebook group but I'll share it here.
I thought it looked poor. The dialogue was cheesier than a fan-made trailer. Bizarro Zod/Doomsday is not a credible threat to Superman, who already smashed Zod. Zod's best weapon was his mind and focus; a retarded deformed clone wouldn't be an issue.
Well, even classic Doomsday should be relatively easy for Superman to deal with. He can't fly, so just use super breath repeatedly to blow him into the sunMy feelings as well. The original Doomsday was made to be the perfect weapon by evolution. Every time he died, he was cloned by Bertron and he would evolve to defeat whatever killed him. He was made over thousands of years, but he evolved very quickly. So if he was killed by Superman once, theoretically he should be able to come back evolved and kill Superman. At least that's how he was portrayed in his original backstory.Well, even classic Doomsday should be relatively easy for Superman to deal with. Right but he just had incredible strength and durability and some level of superspeed. Superman should be able to blow him off the ground and then keep blowing him into space and into the sun and just leave him there. The original Doomsday was made to be the perfect weapon by evolution. They're doing exactly what Christopher Nolan did, they're trying to give us the "Dark" Knight.I read that the version we saw in the trailor wasn't his 'final form' and that towards the end of the movie he'll look closer to what we see in the comics.
My bigger issue is how they color correct everything to look so dark.
Here's a clip from the trailer-
And here's 5 minutes of photo editing on my phone-
Exactly. It's like they're embarassed of Superman. They're doing exactly what Christopher Nolan did, they're trying to give us the "Dark" Knight.
Sorry, I meant Darkseid. You can spot some Darkseid troops in the trailer.Ima go out on a limb and say you won't see Apocalypse in a DC movie. The new Joker debuts in a different film.
