I didn't know there was a Thanksgiving movie that wasn't Plains, Trains, and Automobiles.
Think I'll rewatch Dutch, I haven't seen that since the theatre.

Dutch, easy. P, T, & Autos ending is too awkward for me. If my dad ever brought a stranger to Thanksgiving he'd be kindly sent on his way with a plate back to the streets.

Dutch falls in to a unique category of movies like Uncle Buck where the kids have no real father figure present and someone needs to take over. I don't think there's many out there, though.

you momos do understand I was asking what your favorite thanksgiving movie is, not choosing between my two choices.

It's like leading the blind around here.

Most "Thanksgiving movies" have Thanksgiving as a very small role around the middle of the film. Its not themed around it, at all like a Christmas Story or National Lampoon's Vacation. You named all Thanksgiving movies.

I googled it and the only one that comes close that I like is Addams family values and that is not themed around Thanksgiving at all.

Rocky.

Specifically when Paulie chucked the turkey into the alley and told Adrian she was a fucking loser so Rocky rented out a skating rink just for her then they went home and boned in his shitty apartment after he took her glasses off.

I'm fucking with OP. I have legit arguments that make Die Hard a true Christmas story.

The same theme can be used to prove a real Thanksgiving or holiday movie. Either the movie is entirely based on or around the holiday or the protagonist leaps through hurdles to get to his destination on time(said holiday). McClane was just trying to get to his wife and kid for Christmas in a last minute attempt to save his marriage and family. That is as Christmas as it gets. There's movies that have scenes of a Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner but are not in any way holiday movies.

"Turkeys are hitting the ground like bags of wet cement!"

Thanks for that live report Les. For those just now tuning in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been bombed with live turkeys. Film at 11.

"The Pinedale Shopping Mall is being bombed with live turkeys! Oh, the humanity."

"As God as my witness I thought turkeys could fly."
