It was a joke between a father and daughter while getting makeup put on before going out to speak at the RNC to make his 17 year old relaxed before she took the national stage. The context would have been the same if he said hot, beautiful, etc. Would that have made it better?
Father/Daughters that are close and very much alike in all ways sometimes have a weird sense of humor together.
