So there are 4 wires heading into this bitch from an on/off switch that powers a chlorinator.

White
Black
Black
Ground

Here are the connections.

I think i'm just going to disconnect the power line from the infeed, then add my frankensteined extension cord to this junction.

I just don't know which black to hook it to - or if it even matters.

My assumption is it is acting like a 3 way switch and when the pump runs the chlorinator kicks on? No idea.

I was gonna say don't do this but since you have the silver bullet seal approval go for it.

Just kidding, don't do this. Besides killing yourself, fire or at the least possibly burning out the relay or pump.

How big is your hot water tank? It's potable, just drain it out as needed. Just kill the power to it and make sure you fill it back up when the power comes back on before you turn it back on.

I rage-quitted.
He's playing with a relay contactor.
Ask RM energy.
I can help tonight but I'm busy right now
It didn't turn on when I juiced it up. I'm going to put the contactor back together and juice it up further up the line - in front of the chlorinator.

120 is 120
How the fuck will this thing know where the juice is coming from?

This sounds like a LOT of work. :)

Well, god speed son!
Your post made me think of an easier way to get water. I got a fucking cistern. Rope and a bucket will do the trick. I'm fine shittin in the woods but the wife ain't having any of that. Just need water to flush - and a bucket of water will work just fine.

I put the contact relay bullshit back together. I'm still alive.

Anybody want to buy a frankensteined, one-ended open wire extension cord?

I bought mine in the aftermath of Michael in 2018. It’s a Champion, runs everything but central AC. My brother’s stepson was an apprentice electrician and came over and outlaw rigged a pigtail to my box to plug it in. As soon as we got power back (9 days later) I had him undo it. Last year I had a licensed LEC come out and make an official hookup for it so I have the rig that won’t let you switch to generator without switching off main breaker to street power first.

Right on
With a proper filter that stuff could be drinkable if needed
Great backup
It's not a backup. It's my only source. Fuck that fluoride filled, gay-frog-making city water.

I have leaf guards on the gutter, then it goes through a box foam filter, where it is stored in a 10,000 gallon below ground tank. Then in the house there are (2) sediment filrers and a carbon filter. That goes to the taps.

For the water I drink I run it through a reverse osmosis.

Nice
I forgot you were living the dream

No fluoride in the tap water here but it certainly made all the frogs and lefties gay here. We have tap but we don't drink it.
