My new theory is these kickoff rules are meant to avoid returns and the injuries that come with them. The players on the line don't even react to the kick anymore.
Garbling Mahomes balls even when he’s playing horribly is kind of announcers thing though.
what will happen though is that there will be a series of ref calls in the fourth quarter that will allow the Chiefs to come back
I saw a hands-on-knee look that said he wasn't moving until the ref blew the whistle.
