General If a Draft came, should deserters be stripped of citizenship?

Was listening to History Legends podcast below, about the Ukrainian soldiers saying that deserters should have their citizenship stripped and assets taken.

Suppose a draft came to recruit soldiers for another war in the Middle East or in Ukraine. Would you say the same for anyone who escaped the draft?

Yeah, true defense is one thing. I've thought of this regarding Vietnam, what would I do, etc. Even though that was pretty much bullshit and far from an honorable, I would have gone becasue my friends and family would have been sent to. Now, older, no way.
