iRobotI've not watched the last couple Terminator movies. Did skynet ever wind up being.one.single AI mind that controlled the machine?
There's that, but even if it doesn't decide to get rid of us, there is virtually no way to program absolute guardrails to keep it from doing something that is not foreseen. Suppose you give it the absolute rule that it is to never kill people and it must do everything it can to preserve our lives. So then it develops a gas that induces a coma, sprays the planet with it and then puts everyone in cryogenic suspension forever. This is more like how Battlestar Galactica started.
Basically they're saying that we are crafting our own destruction. One guy says "more dangerous than the a bomb, because the bomb can't make it's own decisions."
At some point the Robots are going to logically decide that we are irrational, impractical, and a detriment to a well functioning society.
