How did the Florida bros do? Too early to tell? Was this hyped? Does the crying meteorologist feel dumb?
So while it was a cat 5 in the gulf it immediately dropped to a catch 3 and broke up pretty fast once over land. While there is damage it was their global warming world ender they were hyping.
Even that Lt Dan guy rode it out on his boat with a minimal damages.

Zero damage for my place. I am about an hour inshore and the eye passed over us. Thankful my power is already back on.
My power and internet just came back on.
Have a small roof leak from a vent. Think it was water blown in. Expected yard damage with a couple downed trees. Could have been so much worse.
Gotta admit that isn’t something I ever want to experience again. Wind was blowing the rain so hard that it was coming in between the seams of my garage door with the impact supports in place. Sounded like constant trains going by and crashing every few minutes.

Yeah, I was all panicked for a few minutes then suddenly had this realization that there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it. Power was out so I put on some noise canceling headphones and read a book on my iPad. Wasn’t worried about dying but possessions. Just kept telling myself “it’s just stuff”.Just that feeling of "nothing to do now but hope" has to be pretty fucking overwhelming man. Its just happening and you have zero control....
