Royval showed big heart to reverse the position.. that was a big moment to fight through it, could have gave away the fight right there. So far damage round 5 and all fight has been done by Royval. Taira trying to win by holding

That was the fight there. Taira with a huge mistake there to not maintain the position. Perhaps a bit of inexperience in a big step up and in the 5th round where don’t think he’s ever been.

only caught the 5th as I didn’t know it stated early but seems like Taira was not ready for a title bout just yet. Didn’t see the rounds he lost but despite the jump in comp, it was a winnable fight had he secured position off the TD in the 5th. He’s quite young still and still developing so he should be better down the road. Not sure if enough to take the title as his striking isn’t on the level yet.

funny enough, Kyoji Horiguchi was probably able to take the title from any of the champs after DJ left. Kai Asakura is coming and haven’t seen too much of him but should make the div more interesting at least.

Keen to see Rinya Nakamura’s development at BW too. He’s still a bit raw but has the wrestling chops perhaps to match Merab as a junior world freestyle champ.
