Actually broken ribs, but close enough. Suffice it to say he was a tough bastard. With a broken arm and screaming hangover.
The Beeman’s may or may not be a screenwriter’s invention, but the broom stick is real history. He needed to “…wang it shut.”He borrowed a stick 'o Beemans for that flight, and cut off the hangar janitor's broomstick to use as a latch handle.
Such an awesomely underrated movie.
Pancho Barnes. Much more accurate portrayal than the TV movie where Valerie Bertinelli played her. Too cute by far. Yeager described her as having “…a face like a bucket of worms…”
I don't know about underrated, it was a pretty big movie when it came out and kind of re-ignited (see what I did) movies about that era of discovery. Most of the leads had huge opportunities based on the success of it.Such an awesomely underrated movie.
Had to go in my digital cloud collection.
I'm assuming the TV movie was filmed before Valerie Bertandernie got fat?Pancho Barnes. Much more accurate portrayal than the TV movie where Valerie Bertinelli played her. Too cute by far. Yeager described her as having “…a face like a bucket of worms…”
Yeah, she might have been a little pudgier than when she was younger but she wasn’t anywhere near Touched by an Angel level round. I haven’t seen it since it aired on TV originally so I may be off by a few pounds.I'm assuming the TV movie was filmed before Valerie Bertandernie got fat?
