Went to back down the long, winding gravel driveway yesterday. As I've done at least 500 times before.
Wound up backing over a new drain pipe recently installed, overcorrected and took the car backwards completely off the driveway into the holler off the side. It's about 40 feet down with a field of glacial boulders dotting the ground.
Only had a split second to realize what was happening and managed to cut the wheel just enough to land on a tree trunk. Had I not cut the wheel, I'd have flipped and landed roof down on the boulders.
Had the car winched out. Took two trucks to do it. But somehow there was zero damage outside of the impact area. Just need a new trunk panel and glass.
But now I'm all fucked up physically. Every time I stand up, shit pops in my neck and back like bubble wrap.
What a fucking idiot I am.
