What is everyone's favorite ramen noodles from the store? I get the ones below (I know, not very exiting), but I always see more exotic ones, I'm too scared to try in case they taste like dirty underwear. What is everyone's faves?!?!? Brands, flavors, etc. I want to try the good ones!!!

Shin or shin black when you want a more rich and less spicy broth

Thank you sir! I'm about 99.9% sure I saw that very brand at Wal-Mart earlier, and considered buying it, but was scared off because I didn't want to pay the $7.98 for a big pack of them without hearing good things. Its not on my list, will report back. Thanks!!

MOAR!!!!

The plain shin in the red bag is more spicy, while the black one I posted above is good when you don’t want all the spice. The plain red bags are sold everywhere, target, vons, Amazon, every Asian market

Got it, I want the one you posted without all the spice. I can tolerate those spicey ones, but barely. They make my mouth burn and ruin the whole experience. Thanks fob, will post here when I get it and try it soon!!!!

These are soupless ones where you empty out the broth and put all the seasoning onto the noodle. Fry and egg or two over it and it’s delicious

I used to eat ramen all the time after working out before waiting an hour to go to dinner when I was in college. Give me any kind, but preferably spicy

Looks like they available at target, Walmart, Amazon or any Asian market. It’s cheaper at an Asian store though. Usually about 2.50-3.00 for a 5 pack while it’s 5.xx in American shops

Curious Robbie, why ramen after working out? The correct exercise physiology is that you want to ingest pure carbs right after a workout (and my little tweak is to make sure you actually ingest some before the workout), and I mean pure carbs, hell straight glucose if you got it. Within just a few mins after your workout. Your muscles will be looking for those carbs to refuel. Then protein within an hour after the workout, absolute max. The muscles will be repairing much longer term, and you want those aminos feeding that muscle.

So why ramen per se? With all that fat, their carb utilization will be greatly slowed down (and its complex carbs, not a glucose type thing to begin with, although in fairness those complex carbs are not that... complex lol), and not a lot of protein at all. Seems a weird pick. I would think one would eat a ramen before bed for example, it has plenty of (a bit) slower burn carbs, and fat, a just enough protein, to spare your muscles until breakfast time emereges.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks!!!

I just did what I did with the resources available. I never had any clue what I was doing and there was no science to it.

I love noods as well but stay away from the more risky ones. These have always been the good standard ones IMO...

Chicken, beef, and oriental...

Always have a case of these in the pantry for a quick easy snack, I just boil the noodles, drain, mix in the seasoning, butter and an egg, it's the only way my daughter and I will eat them. My wife is a broth person, I don't even know her any more.
