Scary shit happening in the UK. Has it occurred to any of you that they wouldn't be at the stage of pulling this crap if you had a "violent gun culture" like the U.S.?

There's a lot of things to not like about what's happening in the UK for sure.

Having said that, a lot of either woke or just plain ridiculous bullshit has been done by the US government in recent years as well, what good has millions of legally owned guns done for you?

There is no doubt that we are/were on the path toward that, but the brashness of what I see happening there along with the docility of the populace is definitely further down the path than we are. We are not allowing people to be thrown into jail for something they are writing online or videos of events they have witnessed being posted online.

Over the last few years I've seen Americans posting here about how an election was rigged, how Patriots were being wrongfully imprisoned, how a senile old child sniffer was installed as President, how illegal aliens were allowed to flood in, how over 75 billion haas been sent to Ukraine for a war they don't support, how transgender ideology is being pushed, etc etc.

What I haven't seen is any American citizens with guns doing anything meaningful to combat any of it.

I have a feeling that if the US government had introduced a law that meant citizens could be imprisoned for mean tweets, gun owners would have done precisely jack shit about it.

I think you're missing the point and you saying you have a feeling something will or will not happen is because that's all you can have is a feeling about it because it hasn't happened and it hasn't happened for a reason. If they passed a law that compelled law enforcement to kick down someone's door because of a mean tweet we'd see how many times that happened before a cop gets shot, that's why they won't pass that law here because it would not be enforced.
