So we were hiking South Mountain this morning with our Doberman. South Mountain is urban hiking on the outside of Phoenix. Our Doberman stopped and pointed and there was a pack of 10+ with a few babies. They started following us and this one male started charging us. We picked up the pace and the fucker wouldn't back down. I picked up a big rock smashed it on the ground, started roaring and ran towards them and these fuckers finally bolted!

They were aggressive little fuckers probably because these had babies with them.

My girlfriend hikes that area when she goes to Tempe for work. Maybe that pack will get her the next time she's there.

Had to google "javelina", I know it as a peccary.

I remember years ago watching a nature documentary, there were torrential rains during filming and the camera crew had to relocate to higher ground due to flash floods.

A peccary was caught in the flood, and ended up taking shelter on the same small hill as the crew. It became quite tame, and stayed around after the floods subsided, as a sort of temporary camp pet.

They named it Gregory.

Gregory Peccary.

If you gobble up shit on a regular basis, yes. They're big rats.

My buddy brought his bow(not crossbow) to the ranch. A fuckin bow and arrow. Anyway, we see a lone javelina and he pops out of the truck and aims. Nailed it in the headlights and before he could put his arms up in victory it charges with an arrow on his skull. My friend freezes. Luckily my wedo buddy packed his mag in the glove which I promptly handed it to him and he blasts the thing. It slid right up to RobĂn Hood's feet. It was straight out of a western.
