It is for a young single person that doesn't cook or spend much time at home. It basically fits a bed, has a place to store clothes, and maybe a small desk. The renter can add shelves, I guess. There are many people that wouldn't mind that for that price in NYC.

$1200/month would get you a larger apartment, but a dump in Seattle. It is more common to get a two bedroom with a roommate and pay $1500-$2000 per month. Either a one bedroom dump or nicer two bedroom would at least give you a kitchen and bathroom though.

That people accept that as normal just because it is in a city is very sad. It is like the world has been told so many lies over and over they just accept that is how it's supposed to be.

NYC isn't just any city. It is very densely population relative to almost any city.

I understand it is, and I am not disagreeing that. I just find it sad that people just accept that and stay in a place like that. But I suppose everyone has to make their own choices.

Yeah, I'm just saying that is extremely cheap for that area. I'm sure there are many young adults that would jump at that.

Went to NYC last year for 4 days for work. Absolute shit hole. The food was great, I will give it that, but that is all.

I went to the famous place in Times Square, Joes I think its called. It was good. Every joint in the city makes the same type of pizza. I would choose our local spot any day.
Same as cheese steaks in Philly, they are all the same, we make better ones.
