Where my maw was born it's pretty mountainous(Linares, Mexico) and when I went and visited I was walking around like I was drunk. I was like 14 yrs old and hadn't had a sip. I had no clue why I was so gassed and all these kids were running around me laughing trying to get to this spring. It was gorgeous once you got there, though. The water was clear enough to drink as long as you didn't piss in it.
