Is this based on something true?

Even if so and it very well may be, who watches it lol. Netflix can't stop tripping over their own feet.

My guess is that The Six Triple Eight will be "based on real life events" the same way that U-571 or The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare were, meaning that the unit did actually exist but the events depicted will be heavily fictionalised.

They were a postal unit who reportedly did a very good job of clearing out a major backlog of military mail in a very short time. But at the end of the day, they were postal clerks working well behind enemy lines. I don't see how you get any drama out of that.

No doubt Netclitz is gonna make them out to be the same as our guys who stormed the beaches of Normandy...

Cast Vin Diesel as a postal worker and the rock maybe Jason Statham.

I could never imagine Tyler Perry making an epic heroic WW 2 movie about black female postal workers saving the day. Hollywood laps up everything he(she) spits out, why not push It? Chances are Hollywood will lap it up and the rest of America will say WTF? Kinda like the election.

They arrived in France after the war was won aswell, I think the closest they got to any danger was a rocket exploding in the sky above them when they were coming into port.

No doubt netflix will have them fighting nazis

It's funny. There is no shortage of women or groups of women who have done something extraordinary in known history. Yet instead it's stuff like this, smoke and mirrors bullshit.

I'm curious what these particular women did and plan to read up on it.

This being made by tyler perry sure doesn't bode well lol. The Madea guy is gonna make some game changing world war two movie is he? For Netflix. I'm sure someone out there could do this type of movie and make it worth watching , doubt it's this guy.
