I saw a reel yesterday of some typical hardcore leftist saying ALL basic "needs" should be taxpayer-funded.

Food, water, housing, clothing, transportation, even internet - all "necessary" in the modern age, therefore, should be paid for by society, which is funded by taxpayers. Ergo, all basic needs should be taxypayer-funded.

(As in this was his exact argument.)

What do you even say to someone like that?

It's to pay for a courthouse. One that wasn't even a necessity.

So they get nothing out of it.

Reminds me of the county I currently live in. Big tax increase to build a new jail....only it's Illinois which means no cash bond so now the jail is empty 95% of the time.....so now they are talking about tearing the jail they JUST BUILT down and using the older one they already had.

Just incompetent people everywhere making these decisions.
