Indy failed him as much as he is failing them.

Anyone that can evaluate talent at even a semi-competent level knew he should not have seen the field AT ALL in his rookie season and maybe not even his second.

Instead they threw him out there as a starter... where he got constantly hurt because he doesnt understand how to play QB at a professional level yet. Then right back out there this season which again was basically his rookie year due to the injuries last year.

Complete incompetence from the organization.
I agree with you, he just wasn't ready and is years away from it.
He is far from mentally ready for this league.

And this is why I'm glad Baltimore runs a great organization.

Lamar would have been ruined if he was rushed into starting. He was already forced to start earlier than expected due to injury... and we all saw what happened in the first playoff game against the Chargers... he was fucking lost. An entire season of that would have stunted his growth like crazy.

Instead he got virtually an entire season for the team to build a gameplan around his strengths while letting him grow without seeing live action until absolutely needed.

Ahhh
They had Flacco until injury?
Lamar at least had played a lot of college ball, he had shown flashes of NFL level passes and of course his athleticism is some of the best the NFL has ever seen at any position.

IMO Richardson is Tebow level prepared in the passing game with more arm potential and lots more speed in his run game. Problem is he hasn't played enough football to even be prepared mentally like Tebow, Tim at least had played a ton of games in college and faced the pressure of the spotlight week in and out. Richardson really does have a high ceiling if he could read a D and become more accurate and add mental fortitude, those are not easy traits to acquire though. He is years from being what they envision as a franchise QB, and he may not ever get there. If he does get there it might not even be for the team that drafted him.

Chrit @Chrit and then Flacco ended up in Denver and basically quit on the team in a few games when the going got rough. I can't believe he is still around, I guess the paychecks are too good to pass up on.

Flacco made $4.5m this year to be a backup (until AR sucked).

Thats a nice pile of cash to just chill at meetings.

I know, was just kidding.
Bronco fans alway joke that Nix is super old, he will be 25 soon after the Super Bowl this year.
I remember Hayden Hurst getting drafted as a 25 year old.

Crazy to think how many players are already OUT of the league by that age.

it's crazy cash for what the job entails

Drew Lock gets like 3-5 mill per year as well on short contracts, and probably earned himself another short contract like that today...and he is super inconsistent and limited

Some of these backups never see the field and end up with career earnings near 50 million

Josh Johnson has made over $12m in his career despite NEVER being a starter... and having played for like 14 teams or some shit.

I don't know what the Browns are doing with DTR, I don't see it.
The potential and the current version aren't #2 Qb in the NFL material.

Nothing against the guy but I just don't get it.

Look at the Patriots. Crazy.
Most of their draft capitol was spent on free agents and trades during Brady's last 7 years it would seem. So they likely drafted a lot less top end talent and instead traded for or signed established players.
