This x eleventy billion.
The spot-fest type matches have done this shit for a long time (I've bitched about it more than once and was told I was dumb).
Then Brock matches started being nothing be finish spammers, with finishers not actually finishing. Then Roman matches started having a lot of that.
Now *nobody* finishes their opponent by hitting their finisher only one time, or without it having been kicked out of at least once.
There wasn't *one* finisher on this Raw that actually finished the match.
Hell, it's to the point that now even extreme versions of finishers (onto a chair, off the second rope, whatever) don't even finish matches, anymore.
Seems that way.
It wasn't because of Trump - at least not totally. If it was, Taker woulda gotten booed after having Trump on his show, but he got a huge pop.
People are saying Hogan got booed because it's known he threw his weight around backstage to bury people and is a racist.
Yet those same exact people will cheer TF out of Cena (who buried everyone), Triple H (played the backstage game better than anyone and has the racist controversy with Booker T), X-Pac (who came to the ring in literal blackface), Rock (remember him trying to take Cody's spot last year? and it's known he does what he wants), even Roman (who buried the entire roster so badly for nearly 4 years that they had to create a whole other belt just so there was a "top" tile on tv).
They boo Hogan because of bad press highlighting his fuck ups. Because it sure as shit ain't because of some sense of "morality". lol

Hogan is the scumbag to end all scumbags. You cant compare him to Cena, HHH, etc...
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I felt like this show was Ok, but kinda "meh". Certainly didn't live up to the hype, IMO.
I mean, we got 4 matches & 3 promos...on a 3 hour show.
Rocky's promo got a good pop, but he milked TF out of it, it really didn't do or accomplish anything, completely dropped any potential storyline he had going, and even for him, it just felt like a mid promo in general. It certainly wasn't as good as the 1st Raw of 2024 promo he did.
But hey - we got to see him drinking & driving live on Netflix, so there's that. lmao jeez
We got the exact same Roman match we've been getting for close to 5 years.
Rhea / Liv was Ok, but totally expected...which is fine, but this feud is several months past its expiration date. Taker's return was cool (I have no problem admitting I'm a huge mark for the American Badass gimmick lol), but coupling it with Rhea was..why? What do those two have to do with each other? lol
Cena's promo was good and set him up for the Rumble nicely. I hope he loses, continuing with the "I don't have a chance to win a 17th title" as a running theme for the year.
We then see a rapper make an entrance holding some random belt and smoking a blunt live on netflix. Good addition to the drinking & driving. lmao
Drew / Jey was Ok, but was a candyass finish. For the love of all that's holy, puh-lease don't go back to the whole "Drew is his own worst enemy" story. That shit was good for a while, but move on and don't rehash it.
Hogan's attempted promo was a trainwreck.
Seth / Punk was a good match, but also the expected outcome. More spam-finishing.
I dunno...maybe my expecations for the show overall were too high.

I'm not a Hogan apologist. But if you're saying you don't like him because of the shit I mentioned, yet you let the other guys go, you're a hypocrite.

Late getting here, but the finishers were cringe AF. I almost wondered if they were trolling AEW but then I figured that would have just been Punk's match if so. Maybe they are trying to capture that audience.
I think it was more booking the show like a PPV.
We've seen the finisher kickouts for years on big shows. And for Roman/Solo, Liv/Rhea, and Punk/Rollins... those matches were all built like a PPV match.
Atleast this wasnt The Beast Mortos vs Kommander on Rampage having a finisher fest in front of 1500 virgins who havent showered since Tony CoKahne last had sex with a woman without paying her.

The Japanese live crowds are tough for me to gauge.
See the first footnote:
"Views are the total view hours for the program divided by the runtime. It is our nearest proxy to average minute audience (AMA) at the household level and does not include co-viewing.)"
In other words, they took how many hours it was watched and divided it by how long the program was, assuming every single person who watched, watched the entirety of the program. So if someone showed up, watched say an hour or two, then bailed, they weren't counted. Nor were the people who put netflix on the tv and several people watched at once.
Point being, WAY more than just 4.9 million people watched at least some part of that episode.
