Found an update on this, the rider was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm, but was acquitted in court.

From the article:

Leicestershire Police arrested Sam Jones, a rider with the Cottesmore Hunt, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after an incident involving the Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs earlier this year.

Mr Jones was arrested after his horse collided with a female saboteur during a hunt in February.

The arrest followed a post on social media by Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs, who recorded the incident in Whissendine, Rutland on Saturday 11 February just before 2pm.

Mr Jones was, yesterday, Tuesday 21 November, acquitted.

The Cottesmore Hunt shared the news on social media: "The Cottesmore Hunt Masters are delighted to announce that our hugely talented and wonderful huntsman, Sam Jones, was found not guilty in court today following an incident at a gate with a hunt saboteur last February. Today proved that Sam had no intention to hurt anyone. He was doing his job professionally and demonstrated that he is a well accomplished rider on an excellent and reliable horse."

I'msure that you will all be delighted to hear that the horse suffered no injuries as well.

Why on earth would he be arrested? I'm glad he was acquitted.
