what would hernato moicano do if he were here right now?

he'd get tapped out before round two, that's what hernato moicano'd do

what makes Islam and his team great is that they take advantage of what they are great at Once it hits the ground its over Same with Khamzat.I usually root against both teams But they are great at what they do..A lot of BJJers and wrestlers try to be kickboxers instead of focusing on what they are great at

This was a rare card I was interested in all main card fights. Sucked Arman pulled out esp for Islam’s resume and LW legacy. He’s got the most defenses now but (and thru no fault of his own) his quality of opposition for defenses has not been great.

I’d still like to see him fight Arman next as much as I want Charles to get his rematch, I’d like to see Arman get the shot as Islam beat Charles recently enough and it would be the second rematch in Islams title bouts. The UFC really fucked the ball when they marched Gaethje and Holloway, yes it gave us a great moment but I would have rather have seen Islam fight Gaethje as he had just beaten Dustin. Islam likely woulda won but still.

Looking at the div now, aside from Arman and Charles, I think Topuria might be the most dangerous fight for Islam but it do as much for Islam’s legacy to fight another FW during his defenses. It would be 3/5.

Anyone see the Rinya Nakamura fight? He was supposed to be another recent Japanese prospect along with Taira but lost 30-27 all on 3 cards though I read that he could won r3.

Like Bo Nickal, Nakamura is a under 23 world wrestling champ and seems like a physical specimen. Japan is the top wrestling nation in the world (or one of them), the top judo nation (men’s and women’s) and have arguably the top p4p boxer but they just can’t make it happen in MMA. You had Olympic judo champ Ishii who transitioned early enough and same with Nakamura but it’s just not clicking.

Nakamura you would think he would be a better prospect than Taira but got dominated by a no namer (although I think that guy was a world sambo champ - not sure if it was combat sambo). I didn’t see it but read he got outstruck and barely wrestled
