If the war ended today the rebuilding would take 20+ years. The war isn't ending today, and no telling how long it will take to get all the terrorists out of there. Staking claim to the land is one thing, but rebuilding and making it habitable again won't be in Trump's lifetime, imo.

I'm guessing to foot the bill and to cleanup the mess that israel made. It's what America always seems to do. The palestinians are also probably less likely to chuck rocks at israelis if there's a large presence of American soldiers there.
