I would say you would need to use a different search engine on the dark web to get information and that's just the way it is. Other than that the White House is pretty transparent in what they're doing and Twitter AKA X has the best community fact-checking around.
Is he really a third party looking out for American interests though? Seems like the last guy I would trust to play that role. A guy from South Africa worth $400B seems like someone who is more often concerned with his own interests.
He just revealed USAID was laundering billions in American taxpayer money. I would say that qualifies as looking out for the interest of America and wanting corrupt Gov't agencies reformed or eliminated.
Seems insane. Stiller denied that he received any compensation to go to Ukraine and said he self-funded the entire trip. I can not imagine anyone ever thinking paying Orlando Bloom $8M to visit Zelensky would make any impact on anything...
OP you are sort of answering your own questions. It's nuanced for most people i think. By far lesser of two evils. And overall I like what I'm seeing so far. I do think real conservatives generally speaking do represent my interests compared to the other side, which genuinely views me as an enemy. Liberals want to see the country ultimately destroyed. It's still a swamp over there and I'm not naive enough to think all of team Trump are benevolent. I also think when it comes to who controls and greatly influences our government, like Israel, MIC, Globalists, all will keep their hooks in, but Trump is better for this too and his instincts are mostly correct.
In fairness, that kind of describes me, too. I was starting to check out before he retired, but it did feel like the last echo of an era.

I feel like the whole 2 party system is just a way of elites that are running society making citizens focus on and hate each other, creating an artificial enemy, instead of the people actually realizing they are fighting with each other instead of the ultra rich who keep the vast majority in their barely scraping by hamster wheel.
I would bet that the majority of people who vote liberal aren't doing it so the 200 pound transgender men can compete against 115 girls, and the majority of people who vote conservative aren't doing it so that 1% of the wealthiest people in the country stay filthy rich while the rest stay struggling to get by. But all we hear is the wild extremes from each side and then both parties view the other party based on the absolute worst qualities of them.

Leftists absolutely do. They're accelerationists who want to build their "utopia" on the rubble of this society's norms. Their attacks on the family structure, attacks on symbols of nationalism such as flags and statues, attacks on the legal system by inserting leftist DAs who hand-wave criminals and punish citizens who defend themselves, attacks on communities by massive influx of foreign criminals.
None of this is a new phenomenon. Anyone with familiarity with the rise of communism in eastern Europe sees the parallels in methods immediately.
Saw an interesting reference elsewhere regarding the friendliness the leftists have towards criminals. Gulag Archipelago volume 2, Solzhenitsyn mentions the favorable treatment thieves, murderers, and rapists in and out of the Gulag had over the political prisoners. Lighter sentences, perks in prison. They were tools of the state to instill fear and control over citizens.
Look how hard NYC went after Perry for defending a subway car of citizens over a feral piece of shit with a rap sheet as long as your leg. They made the criminal out to be the victim, for Christ's sake.
Those in the more moderate part of the political spectrum are bullied into agreeing with the extremists, because they're under the illusion that it's better to vote for the far left over the moderate right, not realizing they're public enemy #1 when leftists get in power to ensure there's no moderate alternative to their regimes. They may not think they're contributing to the destruction of their own society, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and the frozen corpses of communists.
