The aging lesbian academic aesthetic really has lost its gravitas since the 80s. I'm sure there's a 1 million dollar study about it paid for by the American taxpayer somewhere.

LMAO at "we'll be reviewing Spike Lee's Mo Betta Blues...he's been accused of antisemitism"

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: the antisemitism bullshit was thick even back then.

Godfather is not an enjoyable movie. It's like a chore and romanticizing guido goons irks me. Excellent performances and it's a damn good story but Goodfellas is a better film through and through. It holds up better, too. Scorsese is a master. He hardly does any sequels for a reason.

Hey I don't know if anyone has ever told you this but we all hate you and you're a dumb head and you should run into a wall at the bottom of a cliff

Fredo was right about everything. Mike had him whacked on a fishing trip and people celebrate that as some sort of boss move.

The Godfather is very watchable.

Goodfellas is extremely rewatchable, you can just catch it at any point in the movie and sit down and watch the rest... over and over again...

Poking fun aside, Ebert was a decent reviewer, especially compared to today's clown cadre. I didn't always agree with his ratings, but he at least explained where he was coming from. And he wasn't too big a snob; he wouldn't expect a Stallone flick to be Casablanca. (Although with AI now, that might have some legs.)

Siskel was a sniveling twat.
