I would be fine with, if you don't have kids in school you no longer pay taxes for them. 40% of my property taxes goes directly to the school. My daughter has been out for 10 years.

What is the plan to cut spending and/or make it up in other areas?
That's my question, too. They already don't have state income taxes, and now wanna get rid of property taxes.

A google search says general salex tax is 6% which isn't too bad considering. And with as much tourism as Florida experiernces, sales tax at least benefits from that as opposes to slamming residents harder.

When I lived in Florida, I first learned what Personal Property Tax was. I owned a cheap, shitty car, and at the end of the year, I got a bill for a couple hundred bucks, almost what I paid for the car. I had never heard of that before. I was familiar with regular Property Tax, but not Personal Property Tax. I guess they assess the value of your stuff, and tax you on it at Christmas time too. Fuck that shit. Missouri does that shit too.

He doesn't have a plan and my guess is the suggestion wasn't meant to do anything other than boost his wife in polls.
