She ended up not transporting it to NYC and pled guilty the other day

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An Arizona woman pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court here today to a narcotics crime related to driving a moving truck filled with 50 kilogram-bricks of cocaine from Arizona to Ohio.

Andrea Celaya-Rodriguez, 28, of Tucson, pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine.

According to court documents, Celaya-Rodriguez was stopped by Ohio State Highway Patrol on 1-70 in Madison County on March 22, 2024. She was driving a Penske box truck that she rented a few days prior in Tucson and, according to her rental agreement, was set to return the vehicle to Arizona within the next four days.

A drug canine positively alerted to the presence of cocaine and troopers subsequently searched the moving truck. The cargo space of the truck had in it a sectional couch, a suitcase and a produce bin with a blanket over it. Within the produce bin there were three duffel bags, which contained 50 individually wrapped kilogram-packages of cocaine.

After being arrested, Celaya-Rodriguez told DEA agents she was driving the drugs from Arizona to New York in exchange for $50,000 from a man she had met in Mexico two weeks prior. The defendant met the man on a rural road in Arizona, where she was given the cocaine in shoe boxes to be re-packaged for transportation.

The plea agreement includes a sentencing recommendation of 33 to 41 months in prison. Congress sets minimum and maximum statutory sentences. Sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the Court based on the advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors at a future hearing.

Kelly A. Norris, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio; Andrew Lawton, Acting Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Detroit Field Division; and Col. Charles A Jones, Superintendent, Ohio State Highway Patrol, announced the guilty plea entered today before Chief U.S. District Judge Sarah D. Morrison. Assistant United States Attorneys Kevin W. Kelley and Nicole Pakiz are representing the United States in this case.

Ridiculous. You can afford almost 2 mill in pace picante but you can't just buy a legit truck that would avoid that stop altogether?

Rentals are used for major trafficking, that way their personal vehicle isn't seized. Rentals always get the senses tingling, then where you coming from, where you going, etc. Does the time line make sense?

I had one guy tell me he had left Boston when I stopped him, how long ago? About 7 hours ago. Did you stop anywhere along the way? Nope. So you have not stopped anywhere since leaving Boston to where we are here talking? Nope. And you left 7 hours ago? Yep.

Boston is 3 hours away, that's what we call a clue.

You know this is the direct result of Trump's deportation policy. Huge W. This is how you bleed the cartel. Force them to use inexperienced shitty mules.

I dont really have sympathy for this lady. I do feel for the kids and if the husband really doesn't know that is quite the blow(puntended) but since this package was headed to NY you can guarantee it is cut heavily with fentanyl.

She was smart. The cartel would have killed her and probably her family if she had cooperated with the police.

Their celebration is hilarious. Pure joy. The dog was just at the office and that's cause that breed is hyper as hell.

50 kilos?

And she was being paid $50k?

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Buy a second hand car for another $10k you cheapskates, and give her that to drive. Pay for good hotel;s so she's well rested. You'd be sitting there like Tony fucking Montana right now if you had.

If you had the chance to move $2 million in coke for a $200k transport fee, would you do it? Would the juice be worth the squeeze?

Farther it gets from the border the more expensive it costs, if you want to risk it you could go down to columbia and get a Kilo for about 2 grand, all the middle men get a cut and keeps driving the price up the farther east it goes.

Pretty crazy the prices around the world.

Personally no, but then I'm not a risk taker. I'd have to be desperate.

If I did, I'd ask for some money up front in the form of a nondescript, mechanically sound second hand car, and hotel rooms at regular intervals. Maybe a ticket for some event at the destination as a cover story if I got pulled? A concert, sporting event, whatever?

Like I mentioned, the cartel is bleeding. She didn't even fill the trailer for Pete's ache.

So U-Haul, which has been based in Phoenix since 1967, registers all of its rental trucks in Arizona and the state then distributes those license plate fees to other states where the rental trucks travel. Say, for example, one U-Haul van drove 20,000 miles in a year.Apr 23, 2022

Probably “approximate street value” which is a made up way to get someone charged with 750 years in prison (can’t remenber anyone that lives that long)”. Or start talking and they’ll “reduce it to a week in jail and time served”

Even if I could, I wouldn't and they wouldn't take me anyway.
1. They're looking for someone with a spotless record and that includes driving record(no tickets).
2. There is no such thing as one and done. If you are successful, you must continue.

Not his best work but this or a traveling family would be ideal.

Had a friend that was a small time pot dealer after HS. He was efficient enough that he had to re-up frequently enough that he caught attention from the source.

A pack of Mexican Mafia just walked in one day with a suitcase and said "congratulations, don't fuck up. We'll be back in 2 weeks and you're going to give us a grand"
That was it.
Scared the shit out of him and he got to work cause he knew he couldn't run.

That was a couple lifetimes ago, no idea what ever happened to him.
