If it's true, I don't think the cartels are dumb enough to actually use them, at least not on manned vehicles or aircraft. It looks like they were originally designed for anti-tank purposes, but they can fire stinger missiles to take out aircraft. Taking out drones is one thing, but if they take human life with them, they'll probably be greenlit and bombed into bolivian.
I wouldn't gamble your safety on their intelligence... LOL. This is a world where extreme violence gives them bigger gains than high IQ shit.
All the cartels are already in the USA killing American citizens.

False. A video shows a news anchor claiming in Spanish that a cartel member had been filmed with a Javelin, but she only noted that such weapons have also been used in Ukraine, not that it originated there.

There's a big difference between gunning down rivals and using missiles against assets of the U.S. government. Violence and intelligence aren't mutually exclusive. The cartels were emboldened by the last administration, but those days are over. At least for the time being.
