That accident looked like it just happened. So is Jones behind some nearby building or a in a bush when he is having the convo with the police?

I think they are going to catch him in a lie or on a nearby camera and place him behind that wheel, the car itself may have audio or video recording capabilities...although they won't be able to prove he was wasted

What a fucking retard, this doesn't end well. Not that it has been going well for the last 15 years.

Leaving the scene prevents DUI though, which he has obviously done before.
Hit and run is a misdemeanor there I think.

Threats against police is his biggest fuck up here.

He was probably hiding somewhere close by

He doesn't have the TKO machine to protect him anymore. He might be in some real trouble this go around.

He still rich as fuck, so he won’t serve any time behind bars.
I don't think he's as rich as you think. Tons of inactivity throughout his career and legal expenses. He's got money, but he's not in a boat to laugh off $500k-$1m in legal expenses.

If he turned down an alleged 12 million - 30 million dollars to fight Aspinall, I'd say he's doing okay.

I'll fight Tom Aspinall, right now, for 10 million dollars. He outweighs me by almost 100lbs, but that's a decent chunk of change, plus I'm squirrely.

It isn't about the legal team so much IMO. He can afford a good one, not that he will make a good choice selecting a team. I think he can afford it for now.

I think the UFC Frittata and WME connections can get a lot of charges and issues buried or swept away due to favors owed or favor vouchers issued. Once those backdoor favor deals go away he will be toast within a year. Would probably be in prison without favors from UFC higher ups the last 10 years.

He signed a brand new 8 fight deal before Gane, then he fought Stipe, then complained (like throughout his career) he is being underpaid. No way they offered him more than his brand new contract, imo. UFC doesn't work like that. Next best thing is the best thing ever, fuck the past, he or she was never that good, this new one is the GOAT.
Having said that, he's got money, but he's not as rich as some may think based on his status due to inactivity and legal expenses, as I said before. Who knows what he's spent on lawyers and scientists for each time he popped positive for steriods, lawyers for each legal defense for numerous drunk driving accidents, let alone paying off victims involved in each of those (and this new one).

The amount of bullshit he's gotten away with, from a legal standpoint, isn't too out of the ordinary. I know poor people that have gotten away with way more bullshit than he has. It's amazing what you have to do to actually serve prison time in this country.

The UFC, however, has 100% handled him with kid gloves and made way too many excuses and concessions for his bullshit.

Agreed
I just feel like UFC owners and brass have always had some backdoor pull with some States and Law enforcement
Vegas being one for sure and I would doubt they have ABQ police on speed dial...and likely knew about this incident the night it happened back in February.

The UFC absolutely works like that for draws like Jones. People love him or hate him and will tune in to watch him win or lose. When you're someone like Jones, McGregor, etc., almost everything is negotiable when it comes to fighting. Member when they cancelled an entire event because of his dumbass? How often does that happen?

I'm not a fan of his, and he's been gifted at least a couple bullshit decisions, but the man is one hell of a fighter and is definitely a moneymaker for the UFC. He's earned some special treatment, but I think he used up his fair share years ago.

They've had backdoor pull with folks all over the world for a while. I feel like the product sucks for the most part, now, but I'm still amazed at how far it's come since the 90's. There's some major money involved.

I mean shit, it bankrolls powerslap.

I see it like this, he always took fights he knew he'd win, even if he shouldn't have been as confident. When it came down to fighting Cormier at HW, god forbid Ngannou, and more recently Aspinall, the challenges weren't worth the potential embarrassment of dead body style knockouts. His sociopath personality would deal with that worse than Rhonda.
Go out on top, have that for the rest of his life, whether warranted or not.

here is a pretty good breakdown of what he has made . he also had big sponsors like Nike early on . he also has probably spent a big chunk on partying , whores, legal fees etc but he is still rich . this site breaks it down fight by fight including PPV bonuses .it also goes to show how shit the UFC pay was even for champs in like 2011

Re: selective heavyweight matchmaking: I think Jones has internalized trauma against opponents bigger than him being the smallest one of his brothers, likely always got his ass kicked as a kid because he was the smallest Jones bro
