I'm done. This fucking place isn't worth the outrageous rent and I want to kill every entitled fuck I come across. Rent was just increased $600 a month for a new 12-month lease. We decided to move out, so we need to extend our lease 1 month and they can't charge us less than $3800 for that month. 1 FUCKING MONTH. There's no one I can talk to above my property manager, no phone number, no recourse, nothing.

I currently pay $2500 for a shitty 2-bedroom in Marin.

We were considering a move out of state to be better positioned in the real estate market, but now the message is clear: the Bay Area can eat shit. We're moving to NYC, so any recommendations on neighborhoods commutable to mid-town that are dog-friendly are welcome, as are job connections: wife is in corporate retail/fashion.

Thank you for letting me rant.

Clearly you will be a poster to watch in this thread!
Hey, I want you to get out of SF.. just sucks you're trading one shitty city for another. What do you do? Perhaps there's something that can be found in a better place that isn't fucked when it comes to housing?

Ah, well, I appreciate that- my friend, the BA home prices are at least 25% higher than the next highest areas, like Seattle. A shitty 3-bedroom here in San Jose is just under a million dollars.

I've got a friend who is a creative director that just left NYC for venice area. So he did the opposite move on the coast. He had a job that pulled him that way.

If you can put a portfolio together I can send your information to him to see if he can spread it around New York contacts for you.

I might be able to help you out in one area or the other. You don't have to spend anywhere near $2800 if you don't want to and you can live in a great neighborhood in NYC. Don't know what what these other posts are about.
