23cm but you got me there. What size are the tires on your car?
It's actually wheel size that's in inches, and it has nothing to do with someone's age, it's an international industry standard.23cm but you got me there.
People into cars talk about their tyre profile in inches but their height, weight, traveling distances, volume of fuel etc is metric.
People who talk tire size are generally in the young retard category that I mentioned earlier
O'Reilly? While we're on international standards my friendIt's actually wheel size that's in inches, and it has nothing to do with someone's age, it's an international industry standard.
Serious question, did you forget what your OP said?O'Reilly? While we're on international standards my friend
"The International System of Units (French:Système International d'Unités, SI) is the modern form of the metric system, and is the most widely used system of measurement. It comprises a coherent system of units of measurement built on seven base units. It defines twenty-two named units, and includes many more unnamed coherent derived units. The system also establishes a set of twentyprefixes to the unit names and unit symbols that may be used when specifying multiples and fractions of the units."

Not at all but I dont want to get caught up in a discussion about obscure sit like the international standard of wheel /reindeer antler measurement trying to rein the discussion back in.Serious question, did you forget what your OP said?
So you're just going to ignore facts because they don't support your inflammatory OP?Not at all but I dont want to get caught up in a discussion about obscure sit like the international standard of wheel /reindeer antler measurement trying to rein the discussion back in.

Yup you're right the only thing we measure over here i can think of is wheel size, and sometimes tvscreen size but usually the centimeters are on a sticker on as well for tv'sIt's actually wheel size that's in inches, and it has nothing to do with someone's age, it's an international industry standard.
I was thinking distances and measurements beyond a person's height and weight.I'm in my early 30's and I can honestly say I've never met a single Canadian who didn't respond in feet and pounds when they were asked how tall they were or what they weighed. In all honestly are there any countries that have completely switched over to metric? I really can't think of any.
No, I meant at all. If Germany and Japan still have industries using inches, and there are still a whole bunch of metric countries using acres, and so on, it occurs to me that no one ever completely accepted the change over.I was thinking distances and measurements beyond a person's height and weight.
e.g. Section of land, speed, tools, stuff like that
When you ask if any countries have completely switched over to metric, do you mean "recently?"
What country are you in?Yup you're right the only thing we measure over here i can think of is wheel size, and sometimes tvscreen size but usually the centimeters are on a sticker on as well for tv's

I think some things are in inches because, initially, it was the American market so many manufacturers were trying to capture. But I don't remember encountering the imperial system when I lived in Germany and the only time I come across it in central europe is on bike frames. Not too many people in this part of the world have any inkling of imperial measurements. No, I meant at all. My point is simply that it still exists. Germany for example still has at least 2 industries I can think of off the top of my head (firearms, and automotive) where imperial is still actively used. I'm not sure the arbitrary imperial system is ever going away, lol.I think some things are in inches because, initially, it was the American market so many manufacturers were trying to capture. the netherlands, land is square meters or hectare, outside those two things i posted earlier, i never heard people talking about inches, feet or acres. What country are you in?
Hahahaha every 3 moons or however the imperial system would have itI think its cute how much he thinks about America.
Professional mechanics have to have 2 sets of tools for this reason. I'd prefer a single standardized measurement scale, but I can't change the world, I can only change me.My Italian kayak uses imperial fixings to hold it together. This made my life difficult when I stripped it down to replace washers damaged screws etc. In conclusion fuck you America and your imperialist market influence.
Edit - I mean seals not washers
If you're fortunate enough to work for a non-U.S. manufacturer, you can get away with a single set.Professional mechanics have to have 2 sets of tools for this reason. I'd prefer a single standardized measurement scale, but I can't change the world, I can only change me.
haha!So that's probably the reason i don't know shit about american football i have no clue what a yard is.
