Couldn't care less if military ranks or whatever get changed in name. Why would you? Its about the structure not the names, right?

As long as physical requirements aren't lowered for front line troops then I don't see anything wrong with it.

No woman will ever pass the current USMC school of infantry. The physical standards are too much. If they can the I might change my mind.

marines are bad ass. if a women can complete all of the physical/psychological grueling parts of basic training then she deserves to be called whatever she wishes to be called..

although...i never considered the "man" part of some occupations to be offensive. whoever brings mail to my house is the mail man regardless if it happens to be a lady. i say the word mankind on occasion. i suppose that's just been ingrained in society. perhaps it should be humankind...and mail bringer...

It's often a slippery slope with these things: change the title to Infantryperson and "they" now have the legal precedent to claim the standards are unfair because any person is not reasonably able to meet those standards. Thus the standards must be lowered.

It's an easy layup for whoever has the agenda to do so.

Yea, she gets called a Marine that's her unisex title. That's her title. You may not like this check it @Check it but imo there should be all of zero women in my beloved Corps. They should all be blue side in support roles. Women in combat roles in the Marines is a horrible idea. Anyone who's been on ship has seen all the wookies sent home from getting preggers while on deployment. Now put those women with a bunch of fucking savages, because it's what us combat Marines are, and it's a recipe for disaster.

Lol that doesn't seem like a good plan, putting a few women in a ship full of men who've been jerking off for a few weeks like there's no tomorrow.

Do you have examples of that?

I don't really think so, because if it is feminists or something than that would mean they have to admit that women are different in the first place, which they don't want to do.
Also I don't believe the claim just materializes just because of the name, or that any judge would see it that way.

Either way, if its just the name I don't see why anyone should be outraged unless it gets changed to dicksucker or something.
At the same time, I don't see the necessity to change it in the first place, so its whatever.

I was in the second class to graduate squid bootcamp at great lakes and also on a ship that just integrated women and while it was generally ok it also caused a shitload of problems. I have always took the stance if you were the same paygrade then you should be able to do the same job. If a woman was asked to carry something and it was too heavy then it was too heavy for myself as well. Either find another mark to carry it or send us both to see the captian for deriliction. Also there were probably 20 women that found out they were pregnant right before deployment. Shit happens but then you also have a ship heading out to sea with unfilled billets which created problems when you have to fill positions with unqualified personel.

They already do, and it's already an issue. Now imagine if those women were in combat units and living together.... It gets worse

The physical standards are different for men and women, because women aren't in combat roles. 1 example is the pft test, a man must do pull ups, a woman has to hang there for a few seconds. There's many other differences

That's an interesting take on it but who's to say Feminists use sound logic and who's to say it will be a Femenist (whatever the hell that term actually means these days) who may have that agenda?
I believe judges have made worse rulings so see no reason why this should be an exception. I'll be happy to be wrong on all these accounts though, and I'm not even American, I'm just fed up with people using loose terms and redefining everything these days.

Yeah, but that is for different roles, as you said.

And I agree that having women in combat units may have more cons than pros, even if they get through all the tests the men get through.
A lot of armies (right word?) tried, and some have backtracked again.

i respect your opinion..and agree about infantry combat situations, but disagree about other jobs in the marines.

and i'm all about women being able to do whatever they want to do...and i believe that most men agree in gender equality, if they're not misogynists with a 1940's mentality.

i have a difficult time being confident that a woman would be as effective as a man in an intense combat situation. I think statistically for whatever reason.(anatomically/physiologically ) men shoot more accurately than women do...and instinctively have a quicker reaction time under stressful situations
of course not every single man can out shoot every single woman , however, i think that people who are going to be fighting for our freedom for real should be the badass-iest of all the bad asses. do not see the average woman effectively filling the role of an infantry assault-man

plus i can't help but think about how a 5'5" 125 lb lady could ever drag a 6'2", 200 lb guy to safety if he was injured.
or how that same lady could carry heavy weapons on long ass walk up a mountain covered in sand...the female/male strength differences over long distances would be too significant in my opinion for a lady to be a good combat soldier.

The Marine Corps is my thing I am a misogynist about, for the exact reasons you said. Plus that 200 lbs man weighs about 300 lbs with full gear on.

I think I remember they switched to one cap for both male and female.
The digi covers are all the same. I don't think women are wearing the male dress covers though, I could be wrong on that.

Yeah let the womens on the front line but segregate the corp into gender based battalions lets see how many join knowing they will have to face Al Queda,ISIS, Daesh et al without men right to save them.
