Telling Hank Kingsley he had to stop saying hey now was one of my favorite Larry Sanders moments. Classic stuff.

it's been 25 years or however long and I've got tears rolling down my cheeks watching this stuff again. one of my very favorite comedy shows of all time. really sharp tv/show biz satire. I wonder what Johnny and Ed thought of it?
Ha, no doubt.

"Nobody fucking cares about your fucking eye! He wouldn't fucking care if that infection ran right straight into your brain, swelling it to such a grotesque size that the skull burst like a ripe honeydew melon!"

Of course the other great (public access) talk show parody series was the great Fernwood Tonight from '77.

Happy Kyne and The Mirthmakers!

Absolutely, Martin Mull and Fred Willard were one of the slickest comedy teams to bless television. And I must've watched the Tom Waits - The Piano Has Been Drinking clip about 25 times.

Here they both are with, in my opinion, the funniest man alive.
