After a rocky couple of years in the UFC, Nate Diaz is kicking things up a gear following his win over Michael Johnson at UFC on Fox 17.

It's been reported by MMA Fighting that the 30-year-old offered to fight former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis to try and save the failed UFC 196 pay-per-view.

Pound for pound #1 and former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones also tried to save the PPV after he offered to challenge Miocic for the official heavyweight title. The UFC rejected both Jones and Diaz and bumped up Johny Hendricks vs. Stephen Thompson to the main event of a Fox Sports 1 broadcast.

He is the champ and will/should not fight for anything but a championship fight, ever........that's just how it works when he is the greatest.
Except he's not.
Although his resume is outstanding, he's not the champ of anything, especially the HW division.

Just to mix it up, see if Diaz would be willing to fight Jones for a made up belt. Or have them tag team against Pettis and DC.

It will happen in 2016.
I will admit Werdum I'd the worst possible match up for jbj...If he gets a limb like Vitor its CURTAINS...Only fight tidy makes me nervous..straight up..

Agreed. Werdum is the only one to have a chance. I still think Jones beats him, but he may not steamroll him the same way he would do anyone else in the world.

Edit: Uberreem could beat the balls off Jones if the testing would temporarily get put on hold.

And Ronda of course- under the right circumstances. Sorry, lame, but I had to.

Nate/Rory rematch would be insane. This version of Nate would beat the pimples off his back.

Every bit of information available through public outlets leads me to believe JBJ is a horrible human being, completely "fake," just like Cormier nailed down. Yet I agree with you.

Nate vs Pettis is a good match-up for Nate, as long as making the weight's not a problem. Connor vs Nate will be fuckin great on every level. You probably see Nate bitch slapping him during the build-up. It's hard to imagine that not happening, if they make that fight.

They would have to hire extra security to keep them apart.

Nate can't be trusted to show up and not take the piss though, and one win isn't gonna erase that.

love Nate but he needs to focus on improving and stop acting like he's the UFC's savior
