McGregor will challenge Dos Anjos at UFC 196 on March 5 in Las Vegas, trying to become the promotion’s first two-division champion. So far McGregor has gone 7-0 in the UFC, scoring the interim featherweight title against Chad Mendes at UFC 189, and then unifying the belts with his 13-second knockout of longtime champion Jose Aldo atUFC 194.

Now he gets ready to make history against the Brazilian Dos Anjos, who has won 10 of 11 fights overall. And the 31-year-old Dos Anjos has a message for the Irishman.

"He’s not going to make history over me," Dos Anjos said in an interview on The MMA Hour on Monday.

"For me, it’s a normal fight," he told Ariel Helwani. "I feel focused, very in shape. Of course, it’s been different because it’s a big fight. I think it’s not the biggest opponent, not the toughest opponent, but it’s the biggest fight of my career because this guy, the way that he’s been talking, he’s been getting a lot of fans. He’s been very popular. But I’ve faced better guys before, stronger guys, better guys. And I think this is just going to be one more fight."

Wat!? Stephens was RDA's first fight in the UFC 2009, and Guida's loss was like 5 years ago. He broke his jaw in that fight but now has a titanium jaw. Plus I'm pretty sure RDA has gotten a LOT better since then.
With ur logic, Conor's last loss was to a 155er, and around the same time he had another loss before that all by submission. We can probably cancel each others argument about both of their past losses.
I think RDA has the style to beat Conor. Hes not going to go full beast mode charging at him. He'll keep him at good distance and pressure the shit out of him with strikes, wrestling, and top notch jujitsu. I hear a lot of good things about RDA as a person. Schaub said that when he fought Nogueira in Brazil RDA picked him up and took care of him the whole time. Made sure he was comfortable, introduced him to people, etc. I am torn here because I would like to see history, but I really like RDA as champion. Either way, I will be incredibly nervous when these two guys are in the cage together.

RDA talks the talk when he's in his car, calling into Ariel's podcast, with Conor McGregor nowhere in sight, and by 'talk the talk' I mean "my god" this and "my god" that, and "break like a little girl", and "my gym not bum", etc. It seemed to pump Helwani up, but I'm not convinced by RDA's display of blue tooth bravado. For me this fight comes down to a battle of training philosophies, i.e. Nick Curson's Speed of Sport training vs. Ido Portal's movement training. Nick learned from the best, and a former Oakland Raider, so it's hard to pick against him.

I've heard RDA cuts from 180-185 via Nick Curson. How will will Conor deal with the size difference of the LW's, If Conor Can't hurt or finish RDA in the first 2 mins.

if RDA has the strength advantage in the clinch it will be interesting how Conor deals with it, it seems more dangerous to have RDA(Blackbelt) on top of you than Mendes. Also RDA has the cardio to go 5 rounds at 100%
