I'm going to suggest that the Pro Wrestling forum should be treated with the same respect any other forum is. If someone regularly made derogatory posts about MMA as a sport, they'd face punishments. Pro Wrestling should be no different. It's funny that you can't even make a thread about creating a sub forum about pro wrestling without people voicing displeasure about it. I dare say that some folks will come in there strictly to crap on it. Anyone else think that's fairly on point?
You're going to be the Mod, so manage as you wish sir.I'm going to suggest that the Pro Wrestling forum should be treated with the same respect any other forum is. If someone regularly made derogatory posts about MMA as a sport, they'd face punishments. Pro Wrestling should be no different.
Thank you for that, sir. You're going to be the Mod, so manage as you wish sir.
I honestly loved it, read Mick Foley's first two books and The Rock's and Chyna's, bought the magazines too. My friends regularly landed that Jeff Hardy flip on me (my long ass is not built to flip off walls). Recently re watched the first TLC match. I also like to poke fun at myself which is what is coming through in my suggestion. It's funny that you can't even make a thread about creating a sub forum about pro wrestling without people voicing displeasure about it. I honestly hope a lot of people will come and contribute even if no longer fans, just for the nostalgia of it.I honestly loved it, read Mick Foley's first two books and The Rock's and Chyna's, bought the magazines too. Guess we can't talk shit on actors and musicians anymore then.I'm going to suggest that the Pro Wrestling forum should be treated with the same respect any other forum is. If someone regularly made derogatory posts about MMA as a sport, they'd face punishments. Pro Wrestling should be no different.
I'll definitely be in. I wanna re-live the glory day's with DX and The Corporation and The Union, I nearly forgot about them.I honestly hope a lot of people will come and contribute even if no longer fans, just for the nostalgia of it.
I'm not an active fan but "Parts Unknown " is awesome. Maybe have pro Wrasslin as a description after. The Dirt Sheets
Kayfabe Korner
Parts Unknown
Off the Top Rope
Lucha Underground (j/k)
Don't do something boring though. Let's think of an original name...
Guess we can't talk shit on actors and musicians anymore then.
Would you go onto an acting forum to shit on actors?Guess we can't talk shit on actors and musicians anymore then.
Adding this to the list of names for my future gay bar. It's competion so far is "The Empty closet" and "The Cockpit".Steroids and Spandex
Can you explain the kayfabe reference please?Damn that's a good one.
I'd also like to nominate "Parts Unknown - Pro Wrestling Discussion"
No, but then again I'm not on a pro wrestling forum eitherWould you go onto an acting forum to shit on actors?
No, I also wouldn't kill myself, what's your point?
I honestly thought it was self evident. If we respect MMA fighters because of what they do for our entertainment, why would it be different in a sub forum for Pro wrestlers who also take massive risks for people's entertainment. No, I also wouldn't kill myself, what's your point?
Kayfabe is the story in wrestling. To break kayfabe is to break character. Can you explain the kayfabe reference please?
I like the direction this is going already. You're going to be the Mod, so manage as you wish sir.
That's a good point. Wrestlers have died from mishaps, had necks broken, dreams shattered, etc. Unless you're Jackie Chan, you can't even relate as an actor or musician.I honestly thought it was self evident. Jackie Chan is a crazy son of a bitch. Go watch a blooper out take he mauls himself all the time. That's a good point. Wrestlers have died from mishaps, had necks broken, dreams shattered, etc. Unless you're Jackie Chan, you can't even relate as an actor or musician.
Really? Has this always been the case? Is Kayfabe used in places like Japan too? Is it short for something?Kayfabe is the story in wrestling. To break kayfabe is to break character.
You don't have to lie to kick it homie. If @JohnyHendricksBeard is going to be the mod then I'll definitely visit the sub.
Not because I like pro wrestling. That shit is for 10-year-olds and white trash.
I'll visit bc I like JohnyHendricksBeard
Kayfabe is basically passing off staged events as being real. Think about the Chael Sonnen who coached TUF (who by most accounts is what Chael is like in real life), compared to the one who was hyped up his fights. This is also a really easy example because most of his best pre-fight hype was directly ripped off from 70's and 80's Pro Wrestling promos. Can you explain the kayfabe reference please?
