"Frank Mir has absolutely nothing left to prove in this sport. He won the heavyweight title twice. He’s one of the all-time greats. People could argue he’s the best heavyweight we’ve seen in the UFC because of the legacy he has."

When asked if he wanted to see him fight anymore, Stann was frank with his answer. He also believes that a career in broadcasting might be in his future.

"I don’t. Everyone knows when they’ve seen me analyze sports, I’m really on the cautious side when it comes to retirement and putting yourself at risk. I think Frank Mir, the minute he retires, is an automatic induction into the Hall of Fame. I would like to see him put a suit and tie on, come behind this desk, because he’s forgotten more about this sport than most analysts will ever know."

Frank (non-Devil version) is a hell of a commentator and would be a great addition behind the desk. He's an even better fight-caller though. Very much enjoyed his WEC work in that regard.

Agree with Stann here. Call it a great career that lastest much longer than most with titles.

He should stop. He's been in the game a long time and has taken a lot of head trauma. Get out while you can still spell your first and last name. At the very best, he could have a gatekeeper role in the UFC, but he's never going to be a title challenger again.

Gotta disagree with Stann. Mir looked bad against Hunt, real bad, but that firms mean he should walk away. I agree, he done pretty good working for WEC, but if he wants to fight he should keep on fighting. I think he needs to come in without the extra weight tho. The biggest problem i see is that he has made great strides with striking and had some success so now he goes in there looking to kickbox. He had no business standing with Hunt. Even if it meant pulling guard, he needed to get it to the ground. Mir has a wicked ground game. If he wouldn't abandone his ground game to seek ko's he could still give plenty of people trouble. I just think he needs to game plan and fart smighter.

I agree he should call it a day, but viewing it from a fighters point of view im not sure he want to retire coming of a K.O loss.

I like to think if Hendo beats Machida he will retire. Getting finished by Vitor can't be a good taste in his mouth, but then again it's all speculation.

I always wondered why Mir didn't do more commentary on FOX, especially since he did so much behind the desk in the WEC. Did he piss in BLAF's cornflakes, or shit on Lorenzo's desk, or was it just cause he's The Devil?

Either way, I would love to see him call it a career. He's got nothing left to prove.
