Good point and I believe I have said so on another thread. Bisping wouldn't really interest anyone other than 14 or 15 people outside the uk so they could probably manufacture interest in the uk.......but they would lose everyone but the 14 or 15 people from the states so you effectively get no Ppv and an fs1 card that airs at either 3:00 pm us time or 2:00 am uk time to satisfy those 14 or 15 people.........not likely, lol.

I'll go with this as your first sentence is fact, the rest I'll agree so we can move on from a pointless title defense.....,.it reminds me of the time a baseball team I followed that was goin to gift the managers job to someone who was a lifer and spent most of his time cleaning jock straps prior to being assistant manager.
My dad said, he's next in line to be the manager. I said what? He said that's how the sport works. Ok, but do you want a jock strap cleaner in there instead of someone that can win? He said, that's not how it works unfortunately. That was the 80's.
Please tell me fighting is not stuck in the 80's.
If so, I'll be glad to see Bishping get demolished, but I don't see the point.

I like bisping, but i've yet to shake off and forget the battering he received by Rockhold.

It's a hard sell, but he's never had a title shot, whilst many others less deserving have. I know that kind of MMA math doesn't work, but he's been a pretty damn consistent draw for UFC for a long time now.

Give him the pay day. Even if it's his last.

Exactly, my poont above, gift him the pointless fight, put it on fox and that will be that. Exciting because he will get beaten but other than that, please sell me on the benefits?
Rockhold knocks him silly.
Weidman will run through him easily, whether that's stand up or annihilation via wrestling/ground and poundage, lol.
Give him his shot, lol.
Fight Whittaker first, who he ran from. If he beats Whittaker I will say yes, other than that, I lol.

Though I don't think Luke will win the rematch with Weidman, you have to admit that the Bisping-Rockhold fight was competitive up until the headbutt.

Mike has been in competitive fights with the top tier and beaten a lot of guys, including the former GOAT. He deserves a title shot.

I would like to see bisping fight machida next. He doesn't deserve a title shot. Jacare is more deserving, so is yoel if he gets a slap on the wrist from USADA. Hopefully we get news from that soon bc I think if he doesn't serve a full 2 year suspension that he is right in the mix.

In football you get a testimonial match after 10 years service.
I guess in MMA you can get a title shot after many years service.

The timing isn't too bad considering everyone has fought each other. Can't say I'm that excited about MW in its current state. Let Bisping have his shot at glory and retire.

What the hell is going on with the Yoel Romero stuff?

February was the last mention of it, USADA confirmed the supplement was tainted...any word on the hold-up? are we waiting for a hearing or smth?

Fuck it, if Romero comes back confirmed dirty, why not. I don't think he takes the title from weidman or rockhold, but with everyone else tied up sure. Unless someone comes along with a total destruction of their opponent in an upcoming bout. Then my opinion might change. Or if Romero comes back clean.

The only path I can see Weidman taking to win the rematch is to catch the body kick & score some takedowns, if he can't, I think Rockhold beats him more decisively

There's at least 5 ppl in the division off the top of my head that I don't think Bisbing would have a prayer of beating, but if he gets a title shot I won't care, probably won't go out of my way to watch him get beatdown but he's earned one over his career
