Personally he seems like a snake in the grass, but I thought he'd always done a good job professionally. Articulate, asks good questions, does his research, stays mostly objective, and seems to have a good dynamic with his on air co-hosts.

I dont know what it is about Ariel, theres just something I cant like about him. Not sure but I dont think the fighters are great fans of his either remember seeing an interview he did with Nick Diaz and Nick basically called him an instigater, stirring shit up between the fighters.
He was pretty much the only genuinely promising "MMA Journalist" when the sport was getting heavy mainstream play, and rather than become an example to the others he went and prostituted himself to the UFC.
I think that's the part you're not getting.

He has Bellator exclusive fighters on the MMA Hour from time to time, and Dana White clearly does not like him very much. I don't think he's as shill-y as is perceived.

Yes he does have a heavy focus on the UFC and also took a job with them, but it is the premier organization in MMA so what else would be expected of him?
