Nick was wrong on that one.
Ariel does instigate, but he didn't with Nick in that case.
I agree more or less, but I think Nick was talking about prior stuff as well. IIRC. But anyway, the Diaz bros have a problem with everything. Nate is learning a little bit at least. Nick, I think he'll always be the same. Love their warrior attitude in the cage, but when they have a problem with something outside of it, anything could be the case. It could be nothing at all, or it could be some really deep truth. You never know with those guys. You could show them a picture of dandelions and they'd think it was a subtle jab at them. Or you could play them some Dana interview, and they'd point out some hypocrisy you weren't aware of. It's fucking random with them.

I am missing any reference anywhere to FOX firing him, that is quite a bit of a jump to conclusion seems like, he may have resigned or simply opted to not re-sign if it was an expiration situation.

Ariel was talking Bellator a few weeks ago. Maybe on the Dan Patrick show? I don't remember where, but I do remember thinking "This not going to end well for him." Last time he showed up at a Bellator press conference they suspended him. I had a weird feeling hearing him talk he was saying the fuck with it.

In some way not surprised by this. At the same time I am surprised, not a lot of MMA personalities making it to the DP show, but Ariel did well.

Ariel really is the best in the business; so that's why I don't feel a need for a big funeral.

Anyone with that much talent and drive will be fine.

Holy shit who would wish that on anyone, what a fucken dick.
I think Ariel said that in the heat of the moment directly after UFC 99 when people were angry that Mirko went back on his word after stating he wanted to fight for the title. Dana said Mirko promised him he would fight 3 times in a verbal contract before screwing him over. Mirko then told the media he was happy to be in the UFC for the future but was just lying to everyone.

At the time i remember thinking it was a really shady move by Mirko too.

Unfortunately for Ariel he was on live when he heard the news and was angry and so he spoke what he felt in real time heh.

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic leaves UFC after one-fight return at UFC 99 in Germany

By MMAjunkie Staff June 14, 2009

White had signed Filipovic less than a month ago to a one-fight deal, the first time in more than nine years that he’d done that. He had worked out terms on two additional fights, but said he’d only put pen to paper for Saturday’s bout.

While speaking with reporters on a prefight conference call, Filipovic seemed enthused about his return and said he was gunning for a title shot. All the while, he apparently knew he was in it for a one-fight deal.

Not long after stopping Mostapha Al-Turk in the first round of UFC 99 on Saturday at Lanxess Arena in his first fight in the UFC since back-to-back losses in 2007, Filipovic informed UFC president Dana White that he had signed a three-fight contract with the Japanese-based DREAM organization.

“Isn’t that a dirty [expletive] thing to do?” White asked rhetorically after being queried about Filipovic’s deal with DREAM. “He [expletived] me. The first time in the history of the company I do one over the phone. He promised me a three-fight deal and he [expletived] me.” “He didn’t keep his word,” White said, who said he’d had a two-hour talk with Filipovic on the day “Cro Cop” texted and asked to be able to return. “He talked about honor and all this other [expletive] and he [expletived] me.

As is his custom, Filipovic skipped the postfight news conference and could not be reached to comment on the DREAM deal.

Wild @Wild is ON POINT with his assessment of Ariel. He used to be cool, a humble geeky nouveau hipster who was an MMA fan, now he acts like he's bigger than the fighters he covers. I remember interacting with him a bunch several years back on Twitter, and at some UFC events and he was truly glad that people even recognized him... I had some friends tell me they tried talking to him at a few PPV events last year, and he acted like he was a big time celebrity...... He's a fucking joke.

I'm not even getting into the fact that he's one of the worst UFC shills out there.... Hell, even when he covers other orgs, it feels forced... Like he's being forced to talk about Bellator or WSOF just to throw the scent off his UFC schilling trail....... Fuck that guy

Yeah but how many times has Dana fucked people over with contracts? How many times has Dana broken his word? Making deals with Reebok without fighters being represented. He talks about honor but fucks his fights any chance he gets. Shits on them if they don't fall in line with what he wants. I understand its business so how can you fault a person taking the best business opportunity for him at that time. I don't even want to start with this rumor that there going to sell to China or some company.
