Conor McGregor took all kinds of shots at Nate Diaz before the two fought at UFC 196, calling him a "scared little brother" and questioning whether he is who he portrays himself to be.

After Diaz beat him by second-round submission March 5, the Stockton, Calif., native is not sure what McGregor will come up with verbally before the rematch.

"He's got his little moves, so he's probably got a bunch of stuff lined up," Diaz said Thursday on ESPN's SportsNation. "But there is not much to say."

The two men will fight again in the main event of UFC 200 on July 9 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani reported the fight was in the works last week. Diaz has been on a media tour this week, doing spots on FOX Sports and ESPN following his big victory. UFC 196 was the biggest event of the year and one of the largest financial draws in UFC history.

One of Diaz's big takeaways from the fight was that McGregor is being given too much credit for going up two weight classes. McGregor is the 145-pound champion and fought Diaz at 170 pounds. But McGregor was talking about moving up anyway and Diaz is a true lightweight -- he just took the fight on 11 days notice when Rafael dos Anjos pulled out.

"Yeah, it does bother me," Diaz said. "He was already talking about going up and fighting the welterweight champ and taking him out and even fighting at 185 and all these things. When he lost the fight, he's getting all this credit for going up two weight classes. But I'm really only one weight class above him. I'm a lightweight.

"I'm only one class ahead of him. He's moving up and he already talked about being the welterweight champ. Now he fought a lightweight contender and he's talking he went up two weight classes."

This like I said before is one of the biggest reasons this rematch doesn't work..... Conor McGregor's draw is his mouth and his unbeatable aura the UFC sold people on.... I can't tell you the amount of casual MMA fans I heard who thought Conor was the greatest fighter EVER..... How much shit can you talk about a guy who you were supposed to beat, who had 9 days to prep for a fight, and who boxed you up and choked you out? Now you want to give that same guy a whole 6-8 weeks to actually prepare for you? This isn't Khabib, it's Nate "you choked me the fuck out" Diaz. Can't wait to see how the UFC tries to spin this one.

To be honest a rematch is a joke. This wasn't a title fight. You only want the rematch in hope that Conor can win so you can be like oh see blah blah

it's interesting too see how Conor will hype the fight by talking crap to Nate? But when you get owned in the 2nd round must of the shit talk will probably have to be excuses and it can be very awkward.

I mean Conor can't use the
- "size doesn't matter"
- "They're all the same"
- "I'll dust him in the 1st round"

the pre-fight press conference, will be interesting cause Nate should able to own Conor on almost every verbal exchange.

I'm fine with this rematch....

More Diaz coverage by the media and more money for Nate, plus another
humbling for Conor.

Surprised none of the betting sites have odds listed yet.....

Of course I'd love to see Nate beat Conor again, but Conor has business in the FW division to attend to.... Frankie Edgar shouldn't have to fight anyone else but Conor for that title, after that do the Diaz rematch.

Can't argue with anything you said

Sucks for Frankie no doubt, but until Zuffa wants to give him what he deserves, I'll happily watch Diaz again

Nate is getting a lot more comfortable in interviews. I like seeing him get the push, he deserves it.

The rematch is a dangerous money grab by the UFC.
If Conor losses, it will be two losses in a row to a person that is not a champion at any weight class. Another loss would force him back to 145 and he would need to beat ALL the contenders before moving up weight again makes sense.
It makes money in the short term for the UFC but could cost them in the long term by further derailing the Conor hype train unless they knew that Conor was not a long term UFC fighter.

But this fight makes a ton of sense for Nate...

it'll be funny if Nate is Conor's kryptonite, like Sakuraba to Gracies, Fedor to Nog, Weidman to Silva, etc... Conor will beat everyone except Nate Diaz, has his number all day in every way.

lol it will be nothing like the press conference before, of course. Conor will be a lot more behaved this time around.

I love your avatar.

In reference to the rematch, though it is stupid, I don't see it dropping Conor's stock. He already lost to diaz so losing to the very same guy once again is no big deal. They can still use the same excuse that he jumped 2 weight classes, no one has ever done that, I'm still Jesus reincarnated etc... At the end of the day he still holds the belt at 145, therefore he's still champ and zuffa can make their final push to milk the money out of the mcgregor hype they've built up. On top of all that, as long as conor continues to talk shit he's still going to be a guy people pay to see (think chael sonnen, but with a fan friendly style of fighting).

Umm, a lot of guys have done that.

I just honestly can't believe the lengths people are going to in order to avoid fighting Edgar.
